Euroa’s Jess and Sarah Hosking and Shepparton export Angela Foley will represent the region on the biggest stage of their football careers.
The Hosking twins played a key role in the Blues’ 36-point win against Fremantle at IKON Park on Saturday, with Sarah collecting 10 disposals, three tackles and a goal in the 9.10 (64) to 4.4 (28) win.
Jess contributed five kicks, two handballs and two tackles as Carlton booked a spot in its first AFLW premiership decider.
In the other preliminary final clash, Adelaide was far too strong against Geelong, running away 66-point winners at Adelaide Oval on Sunday, handing the first-year side a 11.7 (73) to 1.7 (8) defeat.
Foley was instrumental for the Crows, collecting 17 disposals and five marks, as GV exports Julia Crockett-Grills and Becky Webster ended their inaugural year with the Cats.
Kyabram’s Crockett-Grills picked up six touches, two marks and one tackle and Benalla’s Webster registered four disposals, one tackle and a behind, in what can only be described as a tough day at the office as the Crows kept Geelong scoreless until the final term.
It will be Foley’s second appearance in an AFLW decider, with the veteran a member of the inaugural 2017 premiership side.
Sunday’s grand final will be played at Adelaide Oval and will be the second meeting between the sides this season after Adelaide defeated Carlton by 13 points in round two.
