Peter Caldow was a teacher for 47 years and had an enormous impact on generations of students.
Mr Caldow officially retires on January 27, but handed the reins to Ashleigh Buckland on Wednesday, November 8.
To celebrate Mr Caldow’s last day as principal, the school held a dress-up day, which was right up his alley!
In retirement, Mr Caldow plans to visit his children, who are spread around the world.
“It’s been a great role,” Mr Caldow said.
“I have had a great team.”
“I wish him all the best for a long and happy retirement,” celebration attendee Tootin Brenna said.
“We thank him for his dedication. He believes in all the kids,” Bianca and Adrian Pangrazio, the parents of students at the school, said.
Ms Buckland was sad to watch her mentor of two years leave.
“He’s been like a lifeboat for this school,” she said.
“His legacy will live on.”
Mr Caldow is planning to start his retirement with a trip to the United Kingdom to visit his children, and grandchildren.
He also plans on playing plenty of golf and spending time at the beach.
