Rural Tanks and Garden Beds owner Dave Palmer will be on hand to answer questions and help you find the right tank or garden bed for your next project.
Mr Palmer and his team can design a garden bed to suit almost any garden, including raised garden beds, wicking beds and edging.
The garden beds and wicking beds come in a range of shapes and sizes, including round, oval, square, rectangle, corner (heart) and triangle shapes, made to order in a variety of heights, widths and lengths.
Each bed comes with a rolled edge at the top to protect against sharp edges, and wicking beds include a bottom as well as an adjustable water level riser.
With the mercury levels beginning to drop, Mr Palmer said home gardeners should start thinking about the suitability of their set-up for winter produce.
“You want to make sure you’ve got the right set-up for when you take out the tomatoes and cucumbers and switch to winter varieties like brassicas,” he said.
“It’s good to see an increase in people trying their hand at home gardening. A lot have seen TV shows about home gardening and decided to give it a go, which is great to see.
“Others have taken an interest in gardening because of the COVID-19 pandemic. They’re worried about food security and want to make sure they can take care of themselves.”
In addition to standard water tanks, Rural Tanks and Garden Beds also offers fire tanks to help rural properties prepare for bushfires and comply with Bushfire Management Overlays (BMO).
Mr Palmer and his team offer 10,000-litre and 5000-litre fire tanks designed to comply with requirements of a BMO for static water supply.
“Now is a good time to think about your needs and requirements so you’re not running around last-minute wondering where you’ll get water from,” Mr Palmer said.
“People might also want to think about their ability to catch water to ensure they’ve got adequate supply.
“Utilise the time you have to get it all sorted because when it comes to fire season, you need to be as prepared as possible.”
Mr Palmer also encouraged people to think local and help businesses recover from the impacts of COVID-19.
“I try to buy local wherever possible. The iron I use is sourced from Reece Plumbing in Seymour and the rivets for the garden beds come from Seymour Industrial Supplies,” he said.
“It’s important we look after each other and give everyone the best chance of bouncing back.”
