The current works blitz encompasses a 26-kilometre section of track between Mangalore and Murchison East.
The project includes the installation of new track and signals in Toolamba, forming an integral part of Stage 3 of the Shepparton line upgrade, with anticipated completion by Friday, November 24.
Integrating modern and accessible VLocity trains has facilitated additional services, upgraded stations, and a more comfortable travel experience.
An essential safety enhancement is notable in Mangalore, where the addition of boom gates, lights, and bells at the level crossing between Seymour-Avenel Rd and Magpie Lane has significantly improved safety conditions.
Furthermore, advancements in train detection technology at this crossing and another in Donnybrook, located at Donnybrook Rd, have been meticulously completed, tested, and are now in operation.
A total of 56 level crossings on the Shepparton Line have undergone upgrades.
