Caryn Crawford, G-MW Manager Executive Business Support, is from Kyabram which does not have its own donation centre.
She emphasised that donating blood during work hours as a team not only fosters camaraderie but also profoundly impacts the lives of those in need.
“It's great that more and more people at G-MW are taking the time to donate, and hopefully, we can encourage even more to do so in 2025,” Ms Crawford said.
G-MW supports employee donations by providing specific leave for giving blood.
Sheree Fitzgerald, G-MW Information Governance Manager, who has donated blood over 60 times in the past 15 years, appreciated the flexibility for staff wanting to donate.
“There's a really good culture around it at G-MW,” she said.
“People are supportive, and my managers have always been happy for me to be offline for a short while to give blood.”
Ms Fitzgerald said it’s a simple way she can give back to others.
“Blood donations are so important, and make such a critical difference in people's lives, so I'm glad to be able to do my bit.”
Emily Granland, a Lifeblood spokesperson, said the demand for blood and plasma donations continues to grow, and any donation is appreciated.
“One in three people will need blood or blood products in their lifetime. You never know when it might be a family member, a friend or someone from your community who needs it.”
