Brigade captain Darrell Phillips said it was exciting news and that the new tanker would be beneficial to the community.
“We’re really excited about it, it’s going to be great for Echuca and the surrounding communities,” he said.
“If our truck goes away on a strike team or to other parts of the state or to NSW, we’ll have a second truck to look after our community and neighbouring communities.”
The new tanker is expected to hold 2000 litres and a crew of four members.
Echuca-Moama Search and Rescue will receive $84,038 for upgrades to its office communication facility.

“The Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program is an important annual program providing a critical boost to local volunteers, ensuring their equipment and facilities are up to date.”
