Chair of directors Rodney Lavin JP and executive officer Neil Cripps will host events in Shepparton and Cohuna celebrating the charitable work Freemasons have achieved in these communities, describing the broader work of the Freemasons Foundation and introducing its aims for the future.
FFV hopes to continue supporting important services and groups like these in Shepparton and Cohuna through the generosity of Victorian Freemasons and public donors, and careful investment of their funds.
Since November 2014 in the Shepparton region, FFV has assisted the local Freemason lodges with their charitable work and has distributed $130,000 to local charities including Shepparton Food Share, 1st North Shepparton Scouts and Riding for the Disabled, and more recently, FFV announced a $46,350 grant to Dungala Kaiela Foundation.
Cohuna Lodge has also been successful in acquiring FFV funding totalling $32,390 to support the Cohuna Secondary College Chaplaincy Foundation, the District Hospital, Cohuna Retirement Village Leitchville Senior Citizens Club and Gannawarra Memorial Toy Run.
More support is available through bursaries and Masonic Grants.
On March 24, at 12pm, there will be an event at Cohuna Masonic Centre in King Edward St, Cohuna.
This event will be attended by Freemasons and local charities, and FFV will share more about the Foundation’s aims and the support they can offer to the community.
FFV said there had been support in the Cohuna community via Freemasons Foundation Victoria for seven or eight years now, most recently for the Toy Run and a Nurses Scholarship.
