The concert is presented by Music in the Regions, which will make its first ever trip to Deniliquin next month.
To celebrate its introduction to the community, the special Inventi Ensemble will be free.
It will be held at the newly refurbished Deniliquin Town Hall from 2pm on Saturday, May 13.
Bookings are required but the tickets have been made free thanks to the NSW Government’s Reconnecting Community Events Program.
This concert is in partnership with South West Arts, Edward River Council, and South West Music.
Music in the Regions general manager and producer Ian Whitney said the group is thrilled to be making their first visit to Deniliquin with what is their largest ensemble yet.
“Inventi’s transcriptions of classics like the Beethoven and new commissions make them an exciting addition to our touring program,” he said.
The Inventi Ensemble have established themselves in Melbourne and are a leading force in Australian chamber music.
Award winning performances in Australia’s leading concert halls and at festivals around the country have led to an enthusiastic following of their innovative programming and outstanding performance style.
They are one of the most prolific chamber ensembles in Australia, with more than 80 diverse concerts in their 2022 season.
The ensemble’s co-artistic directors Melissa Doecke and Ben Opie said one of their favourite things is to explore every part of Australia and “filling it with music”.
“Our concerts are the perfect opportunity to introduce someone to classical music for the first time,” they said.
“Or if you already love it, you’ll be hearing these familiar songs played in a brand new way with violins, viola, cello, double bass, oboe, and flute.
“We can’t wait to get to know everyone on this tour of one of the most beautiful parts of Australia.”
Other ticketed events will be hosted in Wodonga, Junee, Young, Danmain and Jerilderie between May 6 and 12.
Deniliquin on May 13 is the final stop on this part of the tour.
