Those are just some of the words that have been used to describe much loved teacher Helen Campbell as she celebrated her 40 year anniversary working in the Deniliquin Preschool.
Helen began with the preschool in 1984 as an assistant, working with director Mary Browne.
She achieved her Bachelor of Education in 1990, studying while working full time.
At the same time she served as the director of the preschool, from 1989 till 2011.
Many changes have occurred during her time with the preschool.
These include new curriculum and funding changes, staffing changes, the implementation of technology and the development of the preschool building and grounds.
“Helen has a passion for working with children. She listens to them, she follows their interests and she inspires them,” River Region Early Education general manager Felicity Michael said.
“Her classroom is full of children who are involved in their learning through play.
“Educators who work with Helen are also supported to grow and develop.
“Countless children have loved being taught by Helen.
“Many now have their own children attending the preschool and they remember with great fondness their time in Helen’s room.”
In 2024 Helen will continue to work full time in the Magpie/Kurruluk room.
“She in an inspiration to all of us at River Region Early Education,” Mrs Michael said.
“We feel so fortunate to still have her as a teacher in the preschool.
“Forty years of continuous service in any field is an amazing achievement.
“To work for 40 years as a preschool teacher, where you give so much of yourself every day - physically, emotionally and mentally, and to remain as passionate and joyful is truly remarkable.”
