Robert Iervasi joins SPC with experience as an executive in the fast-moving consumer goods, or FMCG, industry.
That includes as the group chief executive officer and a board director of Asahi Beverages.
SPC said Mr Iervasi had a “proven track record of success”, leading “a diversified consumer products business with an annual revenue exceeding $5 billion and over 5000 employees across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands”.
SPC Global chair Hussein Rifai said he was delighted to welcome Mr Iervasi to the board.
“His remarkable track record of leadership and his extensive experience in the food and beverage industry will undoubtedly enhance our strategic direction and contribute to the ongoing success of our organisation,” he said.
Mr Iervasi said he has been impressed by SPC Global’s ambitions for the future.
“I am thrilled to be part of an organisation that is not only growth-oriented but also dedicated to meeting the dynamic needs of customers and consumers,” he said.

New disability accommodation fills gap in Shepparton
Moving out of home and into a share house is a rite of passage for young people, but for people with disabilities, the same opportunities for independence and freedom aren’t always available.
However, a new option has emerged in Shepparton, with Kialla House opening to provide independent, supported accommodation for those who want more freedom.
The home is run by for-purpose aged and disability organisation VMCH, or Villa Maria Catholic Homes. It is designed to meet a local gap for low-care disability accommodation for young adults.
Its first resident, 22-year-old Teagan, moved in five weeks ago and is assisted by a team leader and a residential support worker.
“Shepparton does high-care disability accommodation well, but there is a hole in the market for low-care accommodation,” team leader Drew Burnett said.
“We allow our residents — without pressure — to define their own routines and give them choice and control over every decision relating to their care. We don’t want it to be about just getting them to their next step and ticking off jobs; we want them to have fun along the way.”
VMCH said two places were available at Kialla House for residents aged over 18 with appropriate supported independent living funding in their NDIS plan.

Social media workshop for businesses
The Greater Shepparton Business Centre is hosting a social media and content marketing workshop in October.
The free workshop will be held at the centre at 70 New Dookie Rd in Shepparton on Tuesday, October 17 from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
It’s designed to help businesses reach customers by creating compelling marketing content for social media. It will cover topics such as choosing the right platform, creating a Google business profile, curating and creating content, developing a social media and content plan and additional resources.
