At the weekend, the football-netball club was dealt another blow as containers that are being used as temporary facilities and to house its equipment were broken into.
Club president Jarrod Sutherland said locks were broken on one of the shipping containers, and four gas heaters, which were only bought about a month ago for $1350, were taken.
Two wine barrels, worth between $200 and $400, and a diesel heater worth about $1200 were also taken from the container overnight on Saturday, August 5.
In an added blow, Mr Sutherland said it looked like two other containers at Princess Park had had locks broken the following night, but the would-be thieves did not get into them.
“It’s pretty gutless targeting a club that’s already struggling,” he said.
“It’s pretty disappointing.”
Mr Sutherland is so upset that he is offering a $2000 reward out of his own pocket for information that leads to the thieves being identified.
It’s not the first time the club has been targeted since the flood.
Earlier this year, windows were kicked in and the timekeeper’s box was smashed.
“It’s disappointing that people are kicking you while you are down,” Mr Sutherland said.
Anyone with information about the break-in should contact Shepparton police on 5820 5777.
