Fans of the Portuguese-style restaurant can officially sink their teeth into their burgers and chicken, after the restaurant opened for business on Monday, March 31.
Bishoy Soliman, franchisee and owner of Oporto Shepparton, has been involved with the company for the past six years as a business consultant, but decided to give the other side a go and take the plunge into owning his own franchise.
“I officially took over three weeks ago,” he said.
“I’ve had three weeks to relocate from Melbourne ... set up a house, set up a business, interview, hire, train, the whole kit and caboodle.
“It’s been a bit of a challenge, but we’re here.”
Bishoy Soliman said Oporto Shepparton will provide high-quality products with great customer service.

While those three weeks may have been chaotic, Mr Soliman said the effort was already paying off.
“We got slammed for dinner, there were cars parked out in our drive-through and lines of people, but we managed to get through it,” he said.
“The store has been ready for six months, so I can imagine people were anticipating it.”
Mr Soliman plans to get involved with the local Shepparton community, already sponsoring the Shepparton Soccer Club’s under 16s and under 8s, and is also sponsoring the Shepparton Football Netball Club for the current season.
“I strongly believe in always partnering up with the local community,” he said.
“We’re glad to be open and glad to be supporting the local community and contributing towards employing the next generation.”
Oporto is located at the corner of Archer St and Benalla Rd, Shepparton, next to the 7-Eleven.
