The delicious smell of smoked goods in the air means only one thing — Smoke on the Water is here.

After a six-month tour across three states and six different locations, the sizzling festival is coming to Shepparton this weekend.
The city is the fourth stop in this smoke-powered taste-train’s journey, after kicking off in Swan Hill on May 5.
Celebrating delicious local products and filled with exciting activities and entertainment, the winter festival is the perfect place to spend your weekend.
Live music, pig racing, exciting fire-twirling acts, live cooking demonstrations, celebrity chefs and fireworks — the event has all the hallmarks of a great time.
Competitions will raise the steaks and the heat, with big cash prizes and a trip to Texas for two up for grabs and market stalls with handmade knives, barbecue smokers, rubs, sauces, jerky and more will be open for exploration.
Wash down the searing meaty goodness with a glass from the many participating craft breweries, artisan distillers and wineries from across the region.
Refreshing ales and cocktails are on the menu, and for something bound to warm you from the inside, try some local Hot Buttered Rum.

Managing director Steve Timmis said the event showcased the region’s best, and celebrated the strength and resilience of regional communities.
“This event has been challenging to pull together, but not as challenging as the last few years have been for regional communities,” he said.
“The strength of character and resilience of people who live in these regions is something very special, and the quality of what we have and what we produce in our own backyard is something to be celebrated.
“So, fire up your appetite, and we’ll fire up the smokers.”
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali encouraged locals and visitors from far and wide to attend.
“Smoke on the Water brings a real sense of community and family values to our region,” he said.
“Sharing food with family and friends and showcasing our regional produce in such a fun way is a great way to spend some of your weekend.”
The festival will run both days this weekend, starting from 11am both days and wrapping up at 8pm on Saturday, July 20, and 4pm on Sunday, July 21.
