NSW Rural Fire Service firefighters were sent out to investigate after smoke was seen in the Broughans Rd area of Finley about 7.48pm on Saturday.
Two appliances and crew from Tocumwal and one appliance and crew from Berrigan worked to contain the flames.
They managed to keep it from spreading into trees on the stock route.
Firefighters say while there was no clear evidence to suggest the cause of the fire, they did report signs of recent car activity which included skid marks.
The details were reported to local police to investigate.

Finley NSW Fire + Rescue was recently called back to a Finley business after a hay stack fire dating back to January 20 reignited.
Brigade captain Brian O’Hora said only small, firefighters were not required on site very long.
The original blaze destroyed more than 500 hay bales and almond husks, and Capt O’Hora said it is likely lingering embers were disturbed when the burned material was being moved.
The initial response to the James Court blaze on January 20 included 25 firefighters and five trucks.
A reignition occurred the following day, after which the property was handed back to the owners for continued monitoring.
