The Berrigan Shire Dementia Alliance and Finley Regional Care are delighted to be hosting Dementia Training Australia in Finley from Tuesday, April 8 to Thursday, April 10.
Dementia Training Australia is the leading organisation in Australia engaged in educating health professionals and community members about dementia. It will be providing in depth training for the management and staff of Finley Regional Care on April 8 and 9.
On Thursday, April 10 its educator will be speaking at the Unlocking Hope No. 14 presentation at the Finley Returned Soldiers Club, 63-67 Tocumwal St, Finley at 10.30am.
All residents of the Berrigan Shire and surrounding areas are welcome to attend this free presentation.

At the recent annual general meeting of Finley Local Health Advisory Committee, the following positions were elected: Helen McRae (chair), Nola Pinnuck (co-vice chair),
Jenny McAllister (secretary) and Keith Haidle (communication officer).
It is anticipated the group will endeavour to keep the community advised on a regular basis on matters of health.
The committee met this month to discuss areas of focus for 2025.
LHAC comprises local volunteers who, in 2025, will focus on advocating for patients/carers and local community needs, promoting health and wellbeing in the community and keeping the Finley community informed of services and activities of the Murrumbidgee Local Health District.
It is interested in hearing from anyone in the community regarding local health and wellbeing needs and can be contacted at finleylhac@gmail.com.

Did you know that March was Melanoma month?
Melanoma is the more deadly form of skin cancer. It develops in the skin’s pigment cells, known as melanocytes, and can spread via the blood and lymphatic system to distant organs like the lungs, liver and brain.

The Australian Cancer Foundation Skin Check Truck will be in Finley on April 7. This opportunity to get your skin checked free of charge is due to the generous support of the Finley Hospital Auxiliary and Southern Riverina Vehicle & Machinery Club Inc.

There will be a change of date for Crazy Whist at Finley Uniting Church for April. Instead of the usual second week of the month it will be Saturday, April 5, at 1:30pm.
There will also be a change of date for the Movie Morning to Thursday, April 10, at 10am.
