First up for the local service club is the Finley Pro Rodeo on Easter Sunday.
A few weeks later, on May 17, the club will host the annual Finley RiceStrippers Charity Ball.
But there’s much more to your local APEX Club.
The volunteer group’s 2024 annual report, released this week, highlights a number of community projects supported by the club.
These include:
• PCP Community Farm – Carting straw from farms to feedlots, irrigating crops, and other farm operations on PCP farms, including spraying, cartage, harvest, and spreading.
• Donations to young local athletes to assist with costs for attending National Championships.
• Vouchers to help families affected by house fires to get back on their feet.
• Steps for the local pool to improve accessibility.
• Electrical costs for Finley High School’s new ag plot shed.
• Water machine for Finley Primary School.
• Water tanks and plumbing for the Berrigan Motorcycle Club.
• Support for the Berrigan Childcare Centre.
• Other donations to local organisations including Finley Pistol Club, Can Assist, Finley High School, Finley Public and Catholic School PNCs, Lions Club, and Finley Rec Reserve for their help with the Rodeo and BnS Ball.
Secretary Cam Robertson said this is all possible due to the support of events like the rodeo and ball.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our members and their families for their unwavering dedication and hard work,” he said.
“Without their support, we would not be able to achieve the positive impact we do within the community.
“Additionally, we are grateful to the community for getting behind us and supporting our events. Together, we continue to make a difference.
“The Apex Club has been working to make both the rodeo and Rice Strippers BnS Ball events as successful as possible.
“With an increasing membership base and fresh ideas, we have been able to run two highly successful events that continue to grow each year.
“Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our members and their families, who generously donate their time, APEX has been able to achieve more than just running events.
“We are currently getting organised for this year’s action packed Easter Sunday rodeo, with tickets online soon. If you are looking to sponsor, please call Jeremy Robertson 0428 859 297.”
Leading Finley APEX in 2025, following an AGM late last year, is newly elected president Nathan Grimwood.
Lockie Falls is vice president, Will Robertson is treasurer, and Cam Robertson is secretary.
The club extended thanks to outgoing president Jackson Schifferle for his dedicated work over the past three years.
