Held over Saturday, March 8 and Sunday, March 9 – the Victorian Labour Day weekend - you’re sure to find a bargain with nine registrations so far, and more expected to come in.
There were 16 registered sales for the Town Garage Sale in 2024, and bargain hunters and sellers alike had a successful weekend.
Taking part in the Town Sale weekend this year, for the first time, are Roger and Kay Smith.
The pair were already planning a “clear out” when they saw the event advertised in the Pastoral Times.
“It just came up at the right time,” Mr Smith said.
“We’d thought about taking part once many years ago, but we realised we were not going to be home that weekend.”
Mr Smith said he has gathered a variety of items for bargain hunters to choose from, but he said a standout item would be the urn with lavender filter and all associated accessories.
His home grown orchids are also sure to appeal.
“Whenever I have taken my cymbidium orchids to the local op shops, they don’t really last long.
“They are very easy to care for, and they flower from about June to November.”
Other items the Smiths will have on offer include floor and wall tiles, a 9ft step ladder, electric saw, lawn trimmer and Honda lawn mower, bird cages, garden pots, glassware and small tables.
Garage sale holders can choose to host a half-day, one-day or two-day sale throughout the weekend.
Registration is just $20, which includes a listing on the handy Town Garage Sale map which will appear in the Pastoral Times on Friday, March 7.
Garage sale kits are also included in the registration price while stocks last.
Registrations must be received by 5pm on Tuesday, March 4 to be included on the map.
The Deniliquin Town Garage Sale is an initiative of the Pastoral Times.
