Feedback invited on RiverConnect strategic plan

Community feedback is being sought on the new draft strategic plan for RiverConnect.

The past 15 years of the RiverConnect program has seen people connect to the local riverine environment through photography, art, educational activities and canoeing.

It has also been responsible for the extension of the shared paths to the Flats and the bridge over the Broken River.

City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said the region was lucky to have rivers and wetlands on its doorstop.

“You can go for a walk along the Flats, canoe on the Goulburn River, bike ride on the Yanha Gurtji shared paths or simply relax with some fishing and enjoy the great outdoors,” he said.

“We want to be able to take full advantage of the value of our river system and the environmental, economic and cultural significance it has.

“RiverConnect would like your feedback on our Strategic Plan so we know what you would like to see in the future.”
