Interesting reports were given by John Hand, Warren Lang and Cameron Robertson in relation to productivity on both ‘Kelvinside’ (share farming agreement with thanks to Wendy Mills) and ‘Mandalay’, the community owned property.
Continuing on from raising funds to establish the Apex Centre, the group went on to purchase ‘Mandalay’ in 2022 with the view to securing an appreciating asset which will generate income to support valuable initiatives for the Finley community.
This was possible due to generous support from Service Clubs, organisations and individuals.
With successful crops of rice, barley and straw, generous donations and bequests, giving of labour/time and use of equipment, inputs of water, seed and fertilizer, the original debt has now been reduced to about $350,000.
Every contribution plays a crucial role in advancing the group’s goals.
