Emergency service vehicles packed out the car park of Ritchies IGA on Saturday, March 15 as part of a push to raise funds for the Kyabram fire brigade, local dementia support group Don’t Demention It and the Kyabram Rotary.
The Family Day event was a roaring success, raising more than $1000 for the local groups.
Renae Flemming, organiser and fire brigade volunteer, expressed heartfelt thanks to those who attended despite the sweltering 40°C heat.
“It was a great day... as emergency personnel we wanted to show that we are approachable, and I think we achieved that,” she said.
Dementia advocate Mick Simpson was thankful to everyone who came out in the heat to support the brigade and the dementia group.

“All the money goes directly towards the dementia group, and it helps us out throughout the year when the money is there,” Mr Simpson said.
“There’s more help given throughout the year than what people would expect, so we really appreciate everyone who threw in a few bucks towards us.”
Young ones were treated to an educational experience, exploring emergency vehicles up close, thanks to the Kyabram police, SES, and fire brigade who generously participated in the event.
Arts, crafts and face painting was generously put on by Wendy Addesi, who ran a popular stall at the Family Day.
Ritchies IGA donated bread and sausages for the Kyabram Rotary's sizzling barbecue, providing a feast for those who attended.
Three lucky winners also walked away with gift hampers donated by Cadbury, Arnotts and Yummi Nuts.
Offering information at the Family Day was Kyabram fire brigade, Kim Morrison, Campaspe Shire flood recovery officer Marcus Overman and SES Loddon community resilience coordinator Layton Miller.
