This time with a hilarious play, directed by Lesley Robins and Tricia Deakin, that is sure to get the crowds rolling in their seats.
“I can’t wait to get back to doing live, local theatre productions and we couldn’t think of a better way to start than with something that is sure to bring laughter to our audiences,” Ms Deakin said.
A Better You tells the story of a group of women who meet at a community hall each week.
During one session, a representative of ‘A Better You’ self-help program, has been invited as guest speaker.
However, the women have their own problems, including infidelity, wedding planning and finding a toilet roll thief, and become easily distracted.
Things do not according to plan, even for the self-help guru whose own partner is constantly calling her to discuss the lack of offspring in their increasingly rocky relationship.
Teetering on the edge of a nervous breakdown and with the women’s misguided efforts to help, things go from bad to worse.
The play includes seven women, aged between 20 and 70, and one man aged in his 40-50s.
The theatre company is now looking for the perfect cast.
An information night will be held at 7pm on Monday, April 11, at the EMTC Shed in Simmie St for anyone interested in auditioning.
“A cast of eight members means that we can be sure to spend time assisting each person to bring out their best performances and really enjoy being part of a cohesive and supportive theatre company,” Ms Deakin said.
“All people are encouraged to come along to the information night to hear more about what becoming part of local theatre is all about and sign up for an audition.
“For those not able to make it along on the night, please follow the Echuca-Moama Theatre Company Facebook page to see how to book an audition or ask for further information.”
Auditions will be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 23 and 24.
Five performances will be held, with a venue to be advised, from July 21 to 24.
