The 15-year-old student was recognised for her kind, polite nature and volunteer work, which she finds time for while also being dedicated to her studies.
Volunteer commitments see her do her bit in school and the wider community.
At Cobram Secondary College, Emily conducts tours for visitors and new families. She also helps out in the school canteen.
She is also known to assist others, be they student or staff, who require assistance.
Emily volunteers at community fundraising events outside school hours and stewards the Cobram Show.
Though Emily is only a teenager, she is also the youngest member of the Cobram Agriculture Show committee.
In her acceptance speech, Emily thanked her parents, who she said made all her volunteering possible.
“It came as a shock, to be honest,” she said.
“I wasn’t even told I was nominated for the first few weeks after it happened, so it was kind of surprising.”
Emily said she was thankful to whoever nominated her.
“That was very nice,” she said.
“So thank you.“
