Easter together: Minister fellowship chair Elizabeth Spicer at the Good Friday in the Park event.
As the long Easter weekend draws to a close and we all start dragging ourselves out of bed and the kids finish up the last of their delicious chocolate treasure – we can start to recap what Kyabram got up to during the past few jam-packed days.

Kicking off the festivities, the annual Rotary Easter Egg Hunt was held at Edis Park on Wednesday night for excited kids with a keen eye for treasure.
The event went as smooth as an Easter egg hunt can go, with kids desperate to get their hands on tokens they could trade in for chocolate treasure.
Kyabram Rotary president Steph Dean said this year’s event was successful, with more than 100 children walking away from the egg hunt happy and full of treats.
“Super happy with the turnout as always,” she said.
“It looks like the kids had a ball and the kids got an extra chocolate.”
And who was the winner, you ask?
Well certainly not the parents according to Ms Dean.
“All the kids got chocolate and an icey-pole, so I felt bad for all the parents that had to deal with the kids at the end of the night,” Ms Dean said.
Though, parents did not walk away completely empty-handed, with many making a night out of the hunt, producing picnics and snacking on a sausage.
Kyabram Good Friday Appeal
Plenty of drive: Kyabram Fire Brigrade's Good Friday Appeal was a raging success - raising more than $37,000.
Kyabram Fire Brigade held its annual Good Friday Appeal where it raised $37,028, smashing last year’s amount by more than $5000.
The events that helped raise the total included a charity golf game held at Parkland Golf Club, the annual Door Knock Appeal, donations raised through the local Woolworths store, a raffle held at Ritchies IGA Kyabram and donations made over the phone or online.
Leading the Good Friday Appeal was former brigade captain Mick Crompton, who was happy with Kyabram’s contribution to the $23.3 million raised in appeal.
Surrounding towns were also successful in their Good Friday appeals, Tongala raised $8823, Tatura $11,390, Girgarre $3894, Shepparton $60,186 and Echuca-Moama $116,113.
“It’s always a proud moment to best the record from the previous year and, once again, we’re thankful for the community for getting behind us and producing another fantastic result,” Mr Crompton said.
“Any amount we can raise is a great result and means we can help the Royal Children’s Hospital in any way possible.”

The Good Friday service, organised by Christian churches in Kyabram, had community members and visitors of all ages flock to the memorial gardens on Friday morning.
The ministers fellowship remembered the holy day with a skit depicting what happened on the day 2000 years ago in a way that was easy to understand.
The memorial garden was packed out from the 10am start, where audiences were treated to live music, readings from representatives of different Christian churches around Kyabram and an entertaining skit.
Minister fellowship chair Elizabeth Spicer said the day was joyful and was satisfied how the churches across Kyabram came together to put on a fantastic service.
“It’s a great thing about Kyabram, we all join together,” Ms Spicer said.
“It’s a very serious day, but it’s also bittersweet, and it’s great to get together and talk about it,” she said.
Attendees were treated to tea and coffee and even a hot cross bun under beautiful blue skies and sun to kick off the Easter festive season.
