This year the activities will commence at 8.30am with a community breakfast prepared by Deniliquin Rotary, and provided to the community at no charge.
In addition, the Edward River Concert Band and Sing Australia will provide entertainment leading up to the official ceremony at 10am.
The Australia Day Ceremony will include the announcement of the Edward River Council Australia Day Awards including Citizen of the Year, Senior and Junior Sports Award, Arts and Culture Award, Community Event or Initiative of the Year and Environmental Citizen of the Year – Bill & Elwyn Hermiston Memorial Award.
Mayor Peta Betts said the awards attracted a total of 21 very worthy nominations this year, making it a difficult task for the judges.
A record number of people will also take their Australia citizenship pledge at the ceremony.
The 12 residents originally hail from India, Myanmar, Italy, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam and New Zealand.
The Australia Day ambassador is former local Robbie Sefton, who runs a successful consultancy business.
