A driver who was allegedly more than four times the legal alcohol limit caused chaos in a supermarket car park in Tatura on Sunday, July 2.
Police allege the driver hit a pedestrian and a parked car, before ploughing into the security bollards at the front of Ritchies Supa IGA about 6pm.
They also allege the driver recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.223 when breath tested by police.
Tatura police Senior Constable Savan Chitikena said a 66-year-old Tatura man was swiped by the mirror of the white Holden sedan, causing him to fall over in the supermarket car park.
The man received minor abrasions on his knees.
The car then continued on to allegedly hit a parked car in the Walshe St supermarket car park, before it hit a security bollard directly in front of the store, Sen Constable Chitikena said.
The officer said there was no evidence that the car crashing into the bollard was intentional.
A 36-year-old Tatura man has been charged with drink driving, careless driving and unlicensed driving.
He has been released on summons to appear before Shepparton Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
