Several members of the community, both male and female, attended and were impressed by what being an on-call firefighter involves.
Hannah gave the attendees an extensive inspection of the equipment used and expectations of those who take on the role.
Among the new recruits is Finley High School Year 11 student, Cooper Sutton.
Cooper makes the third member of the Sutton family to belong to Station 293, with his father Roger and brother Riley already a part of the team.
When approached for a comment, Matthew Clements and Nathan Keeley indicated they were seriously considering becoming involved, as was Jess Jackson.
Zone Commander Stewart Alexander was in attendance and apologised for the expected drone demonstration not taking place.
However, he went on to explain the many uses of drones for various situations.
It is becoming very popular for use in providing photos and information, especially in cases of fire, floods, missing persons, inspecting infrastructure etc.
Drones can be used to report back to base with excellent quality and even have the ability to use as a loudspeaker.
Finley Station 293 is still in need of new members, and further information can be obtained online at https://careers.fire.nsw.gov.au/on-call-firefighting.
