Launched in 2022, MyDriveHero is a safe driving app that offers cash incentives for users who obey road rules.
The app tracks users, recording detailed trip logs, and offers rewards for safe driving.
Users accumulate cash in the app’s wallet and can withdraw it to spend at participating retailers, including Coles, Myer, Airbnb, Target, Bunnings and others.
According to the company, since the app’s launch, Victorian users have improved significantly when it comes to speeding and distracted driving.
“At the end of every single trip a user will receive a speed safety score, a distraction safety score and an overall safety score,” a spokesperson for MyDriveHero said.
“It is through the logging of these scores and recording the improvement of our users that we can see an improvement in these metrics.”
The company said it had recorded a 26 per cent decrease in speeding incidents among Victorian users over the past three years, and a 23 per cent decrease in phone usage while driving.
Drivers in the state have earned almost $25,000 for safer driving, the company said.
“MyDriveHero is transforming the way we approach road safety in Victoria,” company founder and managing director Blake Robinson said.
“By combining cutting-edge technology with tangible rewards, we’re not just changing behaviours — we're saving lives and putting cash back in the pockets of everyday Victorian drivers.”
Victoria Police has urged motorists to take care after a steep increase in fatalities on the state’s roads.
The first 37 days of the year saw 38 lives lost.
Of those lives lost so far in 2025, the majority occurred on regional roads.
There are about 6000 active users who consistently engage with MyDriveHero, according to the company.
Users have recorded over 400,000 hours of driving time.
A company spokesperson said data from the app was not sold to third parties, and privacy was taken very seriously.
