The centre is normally used as the museum, gift shop and ticketing space and is set to receive new flooring during the closure.
The Port of Echuca’s operations manager Naomi Murray said the renovations have been planned with visitors in mind.
“We are excited to be completing these works and to continually improve upon our Interpretive Centre,” she said.
“A lot of pre-planning has been put in to minimise the disruption to the Port Precinct and our visitors.
“However, we do acknowledge that our closure may be inconvenient for some operators and customers, and apologise in advance for this.”

While the works are being done, the gift shop and ticketing for the paddle steamer cruises and tours will operate out of the Old Woodturner’s Building.
Some museum items will also be relocated to the woodturners building.
River cruises will still be running daily and still departing from the Echuca wharf, with visitors to enter via the temporary ticketing area and gift shop.
The main entrance to the Port of Echuca wharf, paddle-steamers and museum will be open again from 9am on Monday, March 3.
