As well as having heaps of fun, by attending you’re supporting two worthy local organisations - the Pastoral & Agricultural Show Society and Deniliquin Can Assist.
For the first time, the Show Society is donating a portion of its proceeds in a charity partnership.
Show Society president Trudy Fanning said the committee was eager to do even more to support people in the community.
“We’re a not-for-profit ourselves, but the idea of the Deni Show is to give back to the community,” Mrs Fanning said.
“Another great way for us to give back to the community is to support Can Assist, which is a local charity helping locals with cancer.”
Mrs Fanning said people can contribute to the show and Can Assist in a number of ways this weekend.
“One dollar from every adult ticket that is sold at the front gate will be donated, and 50 cents from select beers at the Deni Show bar.
”We’ll also donate 50 cents from every works burger sold at our canteen.“
Deniliquin Can Assist committee member Bianca Armytage said the partnership would help a lot of local people.
“We truly thank the Deniliquin Show committee for this incredible idea to help us continue to be able to support locals in our community during their cancer journey,” she said.
“We are blessed to live in such a generous community.
“That money can be used to help someone with out-of-pocket expenses for scans or medications, accommodation, fuel costs to appointments or even pharmacy bills.
“Everyone’s situation is different, so it could help with a range of things - it depends on what the person is finding hardest.
“We’re extremely grateful because every dollar helps, and it all helps local people.
“We also encourage anyone who has a cancer diagnosis to reach out and call us on 0455 097 676 and talk to us about how we can help.”
The Deniliquin Can Assist branch was established in 2017, after a couple of local community members recognised a gap in cancer support services in Deniliquin and district.
Show tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for a concession ticket and $5 for children five to 18 years, which will all be available at the gate. Children under five get in free with a paying adult.
Family packages are also available for $40, for two adults and three children.
