“We hope this year’s Christmas decorations bring a little festive cheer to the region. Keep your eye out for the decorations across Greater Shepparton over the coming weeks,” City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Kim O’Keeffe said.
This year’s decoration display includes Christmas trees, light-post bows, LED stars, several Santa and reindeer figures, a Christmas sleigh, Christmas Mooving Art Cows and gift boxes.
A highlight of this year’s festive decorations includes the installation of Santa’s mail box outside the post office in Wyndham St, Shepparton. Children are able to post their letters to Santa up until Friday, December 3 to make sure they reach the North Pole in time.
Letters must be addressed to: “Santa, NORTH POLE, 9999”.
To ensure Santa can reply to your letter, the council requests community members attach a 65₵ Christmas card-only stamp on the front of the envelope and write your name and address on the back. Please note that Santa can only reply to Australian addresses.
“I encourage children to write their letter to Santa and drop it into Santa’s mail box, however make sure you get it in by Friday, December 3 so he has time to reply to everyone,” Cr O’Keeffe said.
