The club announcement was made over the weekend.
An experienced player and coach, Bourke has previously played at Nagambie in the Kyabram and District League.
Before that, he was with the Riddell Creek Bombers in the Riddell District Football Netball League.
One of the biggest highlights of his playing time was with Frankston Dolphins, where he spent a handful of seasons playing VFL level football.
These experiences as a player will only help Bourke on his way to connecting with and helping Mathoura’s players to play for him.
He will join the club as a non-playing coach.
He is expected to lean on his extensive coaching experience and knowledge to get his new side to where he wants them.
Bourke’s previous coaching roles include at Longwood in their first year in the Kyabram and District League, which goes to show his commitment to new and challenging roles as a coach.
He has also worked in development roles with the Bendigo Pioneers, as a ruck coach, and then with North Heidleberg’s development side as a midfield coach.
This can only aid the youth of the football club in their footballing journey,“ the club said.
“With a career spanning all levels of the game - as a player, coach and mentor - Adam brings incredible knowledge, leadership, and a deep commitment to nurturing talent,” the club said.
In the days before the coaching announcement, the club announced that Blake Keech would take over the presidency of the Timbercutters.
Tom Weyrich had been elected to the role at the club’s AGM, but has had to withdraw from the position.
Keech is the third generation of his family to take the reins of the club.
In his introductory message to the club via its Facebook page, Keech thanked outgoing coach Nick Ferrari.
“As a board, we would like to thank Nick for his time in the senior coaching ranks over the last three seasons and wish him well for 2025,” Keech said.
The Cutters showed improvement in the 2024 Picola League Season, but there’s room for more to advance their 11 of 15 ladder position in 2025.
On the courts, three netball sides made finals in 2024. The club will be aiming for more in 2025.
