Karramomus and Old Students product James Billington steered Prahran to a six-wicket win over Fitzroy-Doncaster.
The talented top-order bat crafted 68 runs off 92 deliveries as Prahran chased down 214 with six wickets in hand.
Billington, who represented Victoria last season in the Futures league, crunched four boundaries and two sixes in his stunning innings.
Billington's strong start to the campaign comes after he was named in Cricket Victoria’s 14-man emerging performance squad this year.
In other Premier matches, Moama's Todd Murphy claimed two wickets in St Kilda's convincing win over Camberwell Magpies.
The spin wiz finished with 2-31 from 6.2 overs and the lucrative wicket of the Magpies’ top-scorer Adit Pawha (38 runs).
St Kilda skittled Camberwell for 108 runs in reply to its mammoth total of 6-269.
Murphy finished not out with eight runs to his name.
Meanwhile, former Tatura captain Michael Archer made his Premier cricket debut for Greenvale in its loss to Footscray.
Archer bowled first change and the spinner finished with tidy figures of 0-39 from 10 overs.
The promising talent played alongside former Tatura teammate and Central Park-St Brendan's product Connor Hayes.
Fellow exports Daniel Sartori (Katandra) and Hamish Winter-Irving (CPSTB) had the last laugh, as the Footscray duo walked away with a 128-run win.
The Katandra product chipped in with 29 runs and two catches, while Winter-Irving ended with 0-20 in the win.
Elsewhere, Karramomus product Josh McDonald was unable to help Geelong get over the line against Essendon.
The wicketkeeper finished with 16 runs as Geelong ended its innings 9-275 — 50 runs shy of Essendon's total.
In Premier Seconds action, Tyler Larkin produced a sublime half-century in Geelong's win over Essendon.
The opener blasted 55 runs and crunched seven boundaries from 39 balls.
Larkin's brother Josh chipped in with a glorious run-a-ball 37 in the win.
Lastly, Tatura's Blake Armstrong finished with 13 runs in his debut for Greenvale in Premier Thirds.
CPSTB product Brayden Tracey skippered Carlton in its tough loss to Melbourne University.
Shepparton United's Sam Nash made his debut for Camberwell in its opening round clash against St Kilda.
And in women's premier action, Seymour's Maddi Albers ended with 1-24 from six overs in Carlton-Brunswick's comfortable round one win over Prahran.
