Members of the group have the opportunity to work closely with council to improve access and inclusion in the Benalla Rural City area.
The group meets every second month on a weekday to discuss current issues and progress actions and priorities to improve access and inclusion in the community.
Mayor Bernie Hearn said the group was a crucial voice for local access and inclusion priorities.
“The Accessibility Reference Group plays an essential role in ensuring that our community is inclusive and accessible for everyone,” Cr Hearn said.
“We are encouraging passionate individuals with an interest in accessibility to come forward and support this important work.
“By joining the group, you will have an opportunity to unpack barriers and find solutions to issues that challenge our community.
“We are committed to ensuring that the voices of people with disabilities are heard in our community, and this group provides a platform for that.”
Anyone interested in contributing to this vital reference group can complete an expression of interest form on the council website before May 30.
The group is increasing its membership and encouraging nominations from individuals who can bring their unique perspectives to the table.
