The tour will provide the community with a chance to ask questions, raise concerns, and connect with their new councillors and council officers.
With issues such as roads, waste, planning and growth being significant to the community, the tour will allow council to hear firsthand accounts from residents on how they are impacted.
Council will also be able to provide clear and accurate information on services and products straight from the source.
Mitchell Shire Mayor Cr John Dougall said the Listening Tour will be a chance for people to engage directly with their representatives and have meaningful conversations about local priorities.
“We know roads, waste and planning are key concerns, and we want to hear directly from our community about their experiences,” Cr Dougall said.
“These sessions aren’t just about listening - they’re also about helping residents get the answers they need.
“Whether it’s understanding local road maintenance, changes to waste services, or how we’re planning for growth, our team will be there to answer questions and share information.”
On Friday, April 11, the tour will stop by Seymour, with a session to be held at the Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre from 9.30am.
The interactive sessions will involve residents meeting their new councillors; speaking with council officers about key services, projects and initiatives; raising concerns and asking questions about roads, waste, planning, and more; and learning more about council processes and how decisions are made.
“Stronger connections lead to smarter solutions, and that’s what this tour is about,” Cr Dougall said.
“By working together and having real conversations, we can continue to ensure council decisions reflect the needs and aspirations of our growing community.”
