Greater Shepparton City Council awarded more than $1.8 million in contracts at its February meeting.
Eight contracts were noted, totalling about $1.865 million for important projects across Greater Shepparton, with the promise to enhance infrastructure, improve community facilities and support local contractors.
“It is always great to note the awarding of these contracts at our council meetings, particularly for works that enhance our community spaces, improve infrastructure and support local businesses,” Mayor Shane Sali said.
“We look forward to seeing these projects completed and the benefits they will bring to Greater Shepparton residents.”
The contracts were awarded for the following projects and upgrades.
- $347,424 to Watters Electrical Pty Ltd: Design and construction of the Deakin Reserve sports oval LED lighting upgrade in Shepparton.
- $259,985 to Watters Electrical Pty Ltd: Four new energy-efficient LED light towers with electrical upgrades at Wanganui Oval. This project is also partially funded by the AFL and is set for completion by April.
- $91,916.55 to Waratah Constructions Pty Ltd: Design and construction of the Lake Amaroo pedestrian bridge in Kialla, expected to be completed in April.
- $61,490 to GM & FE Ryan Pty Ltd T/A GMR Engineering Services: RiverConnect Shared Path Design, which will enhance connectivity between KidsTown Playground and Gemmill Swamp in Mooroopna, expected to begin in the 2025-26 financial year.
- $193,310.70 to Kialla Lawn and Garden Pty Ltd: Marlboro Dve Precinct Drainage and Wetland Landscape stage one in Kialla, expected to be completed in June.
- $163,057.40 to Kialla Lawn and Garden Pty Ltd: Design and construction of irrigation at the Wanganui Oval on Packham St in Shepparton, expected to be finished by May.
- $240,088.20 to Mawson Constructions Pty Ltd: North Growth Corridor Drainage Upgrade along Warrumbungle Dve in Shepparton, expected to be done by April.
- $507,524.73 to Tact Constructions Pty Ltd: Structural remediation, repair and improvement works at Katandra West Hall expected to commence in the next two months and completion by June.
