The previous expo attracted more than 70 eager job seekers, with a notable presence of over 30 members from the Congolese community in Albury/Wodonga, showcasing the region's diversity and the strong interest in local employment opportunities.
To ensure the community continues to thrive, attract visitors, and offer a high quality of life, a robust workforce engagement must be fostered across all sectors.
Why this event matters
For the local community to remain liveable, prosperous, and attractive to visitors, a strong workforce participation is needed across industries.
The Business Chamber Employment Expo is designed to:
•Connect Job Seekers with Employers – Whether you’re finishing school, seeking a career change, or exploring new opportunities, the Expo is an ideal place to meet potential employers and discuss roles firsthand.
•Support Regional Liveability and Growth – A thriving workforce strengthens local businesses, increases economic activity, and enhances the overall appeal of our region as a place to live and work.
•Boost Industry Visibility – Employers across various sectors, from hospitality and agriculture to manufacturing and local government, will be showcasing their job opportunities and career pathways.
The expo will feature a "speed networking" format, giving attendees the chance to meet multiple employers, discuss job openings and gain insights into future career pathways.
Employers will highlight current vacancies, upcoming positions, and opportunities for traineeships, apprenticeships and career development.
Jesmine Coromandel, Stakeholder Engagement and Projects Officer for Workforce Australia, has once again partnered with the Regional Business Chamber to ensure the event delivers real employment connections for both businesses and job seekers.
Employers participating will have a dedicated space to present their business and engage with potential candidates in an informal, welcoming setting.
Who Should Attend?
•Job Seekers and Career Changers – If you’re looking for a new role or exploring opportunities, this is your chance to meet hiring managers and industry leaders.
•Students and Graduates – Learn about career pathways, apprenticeships, and local job opportunities available right here in our community.
•Local Employers and Business Owners – Promote your job openings and meet motivated candidates eager to work in the region.

A community effort for a thriving future
As a region, we must take action to ensure that we retain and attract skilled workers,“ Corowa Regional Business Chamber Executive Officer John Crothers said.
“Events like the Business Chamber Employment Expo not only support job seekers and businesses but also enhance the long-term sustainability of our local economy.
“We invite everyone in the community to come along, explore what’s on offer and help shape the future of employment in our region,” Mr Crothers said.
