From October 14, the community benefit card has been replaced with the Ritchies loyalty card, which supports groups including Cobram District Health, CFA, SES, and local schools.
Members of the public will now be able to choose which community groups they want to support based on a percentage of their total shopping on eligible products.
Cobram Ritchies IGA manager Mandy Hawke said anyone could receive a free card in-store or download the Ritchies app.
“By having the card, there are extra specials available to our customers,” she said.
“Our staff will be available to help out if anyone has any problems.”
Cobram CFA captain Adrian Hilder said all the donations received through the loyalty program went back into supporting the local community.
“It’s supporting the people and equipment that we need to support the community,” Mr Hilder said.
“Since the community benefit program began, we’ve earned about $32,000 — and we built a new shed out the back of the fire station with the money.”
