On Friday, July 19, the collected amount was unveiled, with all $3910 of proceeds going to local equine therapy charity Horses for Hope.
Horses for Hope operates out of Mooroopna North, providing therapy for both horses and humans through a mutually beneficial program.
Through this unique partnership, both human and horse develop new skills, overcome challenges and discover a sense of worth and capability together.
The not-for-profit organisation has been providing this unique service for over 20 years, and relies heavily on donations and uncertain grants for funding.
With 20 years comes the passing of reins from devoted founder Colin Emonson to new management.
Kim Hider, who has stepped up to the role of management, said the Shepparton Club’s generous donation would greatly help the organisation.
“We received just under $4000 on that night, which was insanely exciting,” she said.
“The challenge with these small not-for-profits is that many people know us through word of mouth, but not a lot of people actually get to see what we do unless they are a part of it.”
The money will be put towards a display day during Mental Health Week this October — a celebration of the 20-year milestone and a chance for the community to witness the incredible work Horses for Hope does.
Gates will open on October 12, giving visitors an inside look into the charity’s unique one-of-a-kind therapy with live demonstrations, guided tours and even a chance to meet the horses of Horses For Hope.
On a blog post announcing the display day, both past and future management expressed thanks to the community for their support.

The Shepparton Club’s charity raffles take place on the third Friday of every month.
The next raffle is due to be drawn on Friday, August 16.
