More than 200 people ran and walked to raise money for breast and ovarian cancer.
The participants could race in three events: an 8km run, a 4km run and a 4km walk from the Port of Echuca over the bridge to Moama and back.
Organiser Britt Allman made a speech to start the day, thanking all participants for their support and others for their help running the event.
Ms Allman spoke about her previous experience with the Women in Super Mother’s Day Classic and her motivation for wanting to organise the event.

“This is the second year that the Mother’s Day classic has been in Echuca-Moama and I have previously participated in Melbourne, Shepparton and Bendigo,” she said.
“I wanted to bring the event locally after my nan lost her fight with breast cancer after a 16-year battle.”
Ms Allman said the event was important for the community and she was excited by the turnout.
“It shines a light on the people who are suffering or have lost someone to breast or ovarian cancer, but it is also a good opportunity to bring people together on Mother’s Day for a cause that is close to many people’s hearts,” she said.
“We had a great turnout with 180 registrations, which is a lot more than last year, so that’s amazing.

“I am so happy and excited about the event. It has had such an awesome turnout and it has come together really well and I am very proud.”
Jordan Moroney, 8, won the 4km run, smashing out the competition and charging over the line to receive his prize and participation medallion.
Sarah Krahe from Serpentine won the 8km run. She was happy with the result and ecstatic about being part of the event.
“The run was really nice. Everyone was very friendly along the way,” she said.
“We were all approaching each other and the view along the river with the sun streaming down was beautiful.
“I always like to support the Mother’s Day Classic here and this year’s event was awesome. The organisers have done a great job.”

Ms Krahe also touched on the importance of the event to communities and the need to support those who battle breast and ovarian cancer every day.
“I think it’s important to get people out and about doing things. It gives them something to aim for, getting active and socialising, and it’s great for people’s physical and mental health,” she said.
“It’s great that we can support breast and ovarian cancer with events like these and raise awareness and money for such an important cause that affects a lot of people.”
