Tomorrow Today executive officer Jodie Fleming said applying was easy and encouraged local groups and organisations to complete an application.
“Our annual grants program supports projects which benefit our community as a whole, not just children and young people.” Ms Fleming said.
“We want to help local organisations make Benalla an even better place to live for everyone.”
Since 2003, community gardens, after-school programs, learning supports, playgroups, community events, wellbeing workshops and technology projects have all benefited from more than $450,000 in grant funding from Tomorrow Today.
Funding is available to groups and organisations for projects which will improve skills, encourage connections, improve the wellbeing of Benalla’s residents or build aspiration and enhance the educational outcomes for local children and young people.
Money donated, mainly by local people, to the Tomorrow Today Community Fund is invested so that grants can be made year after year.
“In the past 22 years we’ve supported 170 local projects through our annual grants program,” Ms Fleming said.
“But we couldn’t have done that without the support of Benalla locals.
“When they donate to our community fund the money goes back into the Benalla community. It’s local money helping local people.
“This year we’re keen to hear from any local groups or organisations with projects where funding will help get them off the ground.
“So please get in touch with us so we can help you to apply or provide other support.
“Even if you are unsure whether your idea fits our criteria, we’d love to chat with you.”
