Overcoming hiccups in the world of online marketing, Soap Bar Co.’s win of the Committee for Echuca Moama Excellence in Marketing Award is particularly pointed.
After having her business account’s Instagram hacked earlier this year, Vanessa Bronsgeest is proud to have made a strong comeback and be recognised in this way.
“This is the one that I care about because of everything that happened,” she said.
“I’m so excited to win this award.”
Since losing the account at 25,000 followers, Soap Bar Co. has regained these numbers and has now opened a physical store in the Port of Echuca.
Mrs Bronsgeest believes the experience of being hacked changed her business outlook, shifting her focus to other forms of marketing and customer engagement, including the opening of a bricks-and-mortar store.
“I wouldn’t be opening my store tomorrow (Thursday, October 31) if I hadn’t been hacked,” she said.
“Social media isn’t the only thing.”
