On Friday, March 21, the museum invites art aficionados and community members alike to celebrate the official opening of its seasonal exhibition.
The event begins with insightful remarks from SAM director Danny Lacy and guest David McKenzie, followed by a curatorial introduction to the new Community Gallery exhibition, Dore Stockhausen: echoes of a new eden, presented by SAM curator of community Caroline Esbenshade.
Attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the newly launched exhibitions, including echoes of a new eden, The Shape of Things to Come and Ayako Rokkaku.
Additionally, those present will gain a sneak peek of upcoming works such as More than this, featuring multidisciplinary artist Belinda Fox, and Magic Mountains, a striking series of prints by local artist Emmet O’Dwyer.
SAM head of engagement Gabriella Calandro shared her team’s excitement for the new exhibitions, which represented months of dedicated curation and planning.
“We enjoy creating opportunities to share these experiences with our community,” she said.
“These seasonal celebrations of our exhibitions are a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together to experience the museum in a different way.”
Refreshments will be available at bar prices, catered by Elsewhere at SAM.
SAM’s seasonal exhibition will be held on Friday, March 21, from 6pm to 8pm at the Shepparton Art Museum, 530 Wyndham St, Shepparton.
This event is free, and registration is encouraged.
