On at Echuca library, the event is a great chance for community members, particularly those residents who have recently moved to the area, are retired, or are looking to be more involved with their community, to see what is available.
The outdoor lawn area in front of the library will be used for the group displays along with the indoor space, and the day offers the public the chance to have an informal chat with members of the groups present on the day and receive some information about their meetings, activities, events and services.
Those attending can join the Ripple Fest team in a creative workshop to collaborate with others to make giant Exquisite Corpses that can be showcased as part of the Ripple Fest arts event from May 22-25.
For the gardeners, Campaspe Seed Group will be giving away free sunflower seeds and offering information about its Seed Library, while horticulturalist and educator Craig Castree will give two free talks: Seed-saving and sowing your own seeds, at 10.15am; and, how to use your entire garden as a place to grow food, no matter where you live, at noon.
Campaspe Aquatics will do a Les Mills Body Balance demonstration at 11.30am, for those looking to get in a little workout on a Saturday.
EMFM Radio will be doing a live broadcast from 10am to 1pm and don’t miss a sausage expertly cooked by Echuca Lions members.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell said the event was a great way to make connections and become involved with the Campaspe community.
“This day can help people to participate, volunteer, build connections and strengthen our community – and everyone is welcome, so don’t miss it.”
