A tree will be planted in her honour, with accompanying plaque, at Finley's Railway Park at 3.30pm on Tuesday, August 27.
Mrs Bender's family said members of CanAssist Finley and the general public are welcome to attend.
Mrs Bender lost her own battle with cancer on April 6 this year.
Wanting to help others battling cancer, she instigated a support group which then progressed to be a CanAssist branch.
She worked tirelessly on street stalls to raise funds for locals with cancer needing financial assistance, and also arranged the first cancer awareness evening.
Due to the decline in her health, Mrs Bender only stepped down as president of the branch in May this year.
CanAssist members say she will be remembered for her hard work and dedication to her family and the local community.
