Following his transfer from Melbourne City to fellow A-League outfit and cross-town rival Victory, Iannucci has joined 21 of his teammates for the resumption of the prestigious tournament.
Melbourne Victory head coach Grant Brebner named his 22-man squad for the AFC Champions League last week, before the outfit flew out for Qatar on Thursday.
Iannucci's outfit currently sits in third place in Group E on goal difference.
Victory will play four of its remaining group stage matches in the Middle East, with the first match on Tuesday against Beijing FC.
The two sides clash heads again on November 27, before Victory squares off against Chiangrai United and FC Seoul.
Victory's head coach acknowledged the tough challenges awaiting his side, but he believed it has the perfect balance of youth and experience.
“There is no doubt resuming our campaign midway through our pre-season is going to be extremely tough, but we see this as a great opportunity to bring our new squad together on and off the park,” Brebner said.
“We are taking away a squad which has a good blend of experience and youth. Given we have four games in 10 days, we will need to make sure everyone is ready to play should they be required.
“Our first two games against Beijing FC are vitally important to our chances of making it through the group stage, so our focus will be to put in really strong performances against them.
“It’s a privilege to coach in this tournament, it’s a privilege for our players to go and play in this tournament and we are focused on putting in the performances to progress through the group stage.”
Iannucci, a promising winger, is no stranger to the big stage.
The “Moira Shire Messi” represented the Young Socceroos in last year's AFC under-19 qualifiers.
The talented teenager tasted success with the national outfit, where it locked in a spot to the postponed 2020 AFC Under-19 Championships.
