The age range for toys for donation can span from babies to age 12.
Gifts can be dropped off at Cobram Community House, Bendigo Bank Cobram, Cobram Cinema as well as Barooga Aquatic and Recreation Centre.
Some of the gifts that have so far been donated at the Bendigo Bank drop-off point include toy trucks, stuffed animals and Disney figurines.
Last year the Gift Appeal provided gifts to approximately 150 children.
Cobram Community House manager Christine Osborne is hoping that the 2022 appeal will be just as successful.
“Last year we were overwhelmed by the generosity of the people in our community and we hope they will support us again in 2022 ... it’s a wonderful appeal, and it’s heart-warming to see the smiles and appreciation from our families,” Mrs Osborne said.
The Gift Appeal ends on Tuesday, December 6.
Bendigo Bank personal banker Lizette Mezenberg said the bank’s Cobram branch’s involvement in the 2022 Gift Appeal was just an extension of the bank’s mission to serve the community and the staff members were eager to take part.
The Gift Appeal was originally co-ordinated by the Uniting Church and has been going on for more than 30 years. Cobram Community House took over the appeal in 2021.
Forms to access the appeal are distributed through schools, kindergardens, daycare centres and support agencies. You can also contact Cobram Community House on (03) 5872 2224.
