These awards honour youth who have demonstrated outstanding dedication, creativity and leadership in making the Mitchell Shire community a better place.
Nominations are now open for this year’s awards, featuring three distinct categories that showcase youth community excellence in various fields.
The awards welcome all residents of Mitchell Shire aged 12 to 24, encouraging diverse participation and recognising talent across genders.
Nominees should have actively enriched their community through their service, leadership or innovative projects, demonstrating the power of youth engagement.
The award recognises general excellence in community contribution; however, the nominations recognise areas where the nominee has made notable or meaningful contributions such as leadership, innovation, community service and more.
Nominations can be submitted by individuals, community organisations or groups.
Self-nomination is also allowed.
A panel of judges, including community leaders and representatives, will evaluate all nominations based on the established criteria.
Nominations close on Monday, November 4, and the awards will be presented at the Twilight Music Festival on Friday, November 22 in Wallan.
Each award recipient for the open categories will receive a formal award certificate, trophy/plaque and a $200 gift certificate.
All nominees receive a certificate and recognition of nomination in a reference letter from Mitchell Shire Council.
