The event, which is organised by Echuca Rotary Club, is packed with fun activities, food, live music and a ceremony honouring the region’s best and brightest.
There will be a free breakfast available for attendees in the morning, beginning at 7am and running through until roughly 10.30am, when Uncle Rick Ronnan will deliver a Welcome to Country.
Following that, there will be a flag-raising ceremony by the First Echuca Scout Group before a flyover by Echuca Aero Club at 8am.
One of the highlights of the day will be the presentation of the Campaspe Shire Citizen of the Year Awards, which celebrate the achievements and contributions of individuals and community organisations or groups in our region.
Three accolades will be awarded on the day; Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Community Group of the Year.
Various councillors and politicians will be in attendance, including Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell and State Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh.
There will be live music throughout the day, including performances by the Echuca Federal Band, Drew Walker and the Wildlings.
Echuca Rotary Club director of membership Teresa Carlson expressed the club’s excitement for the event and reflected on the success of years past.
“It’ll be a full day of entertainment, it's a very busy event, especially with all the activities in the Port as well, and the paddlesteamers will be running for people to use,” she said.
“It is always an exciting thing for us to put on, we are very fortunate that people are amicable with what we do, the flyover in particular is such a highlight of the day.
“We always get good feedback from the community, everybody is perfect, and it is a fabulous day, Hopwood Gardens is the ideal place to hold it.”
