Running from Friday, April 11 to Sunday, April 13, the tournament is expected to attract 30 to 40 teams from across the country, with about 600 competitors and officials participating.
The event’s return demonstrates the confidence the Ultimate Frisbee community has in Shepparton Sports City’s facilities, with a two-year partnership secured to host the championships in 2025 and 2026.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said the event will bring many benefits to the region.
“We are very excited to welcome Australia’s top Ultimate Frisbee athletes back to Greater Shepparton after a very successful visit in 2022 and 2024,” he said.
“The championships will see the very best male and female competitors using their strength and agility to sprint, leap and throw their way to victory ‒ a lot more thrilling than your average backyard or park game.”
AFDA chief executive officer Maxwell Gratton encouraged residents to come along to the event and see the excitement.
“The Australian Flying Disc Association (AFDA) is delighted to be back at Shepparton’s Sports City Precinct to host the 2025 Australian Ultimate Championships Division 2,” he said.
“There will be many great matches to see. It will be a great opportunity to witness the excitement of Ultimate Frisbee.”
The event is expected to benefit the local economy as participants stay, eat, and explore the region during the three-day competition.
