And Campaspe Shire Council’s Autumn Vibes program — a vibrant series of free events happening across the shire from March 29 to April 17 — will help you make the most of the season.
The free events are designed to encourage community members to enjoy the shire’s amazing public open spaces while the weather is ideal for being out and about.
“Autumn is the perfect time to kick back with an outdoor movie, a night of musical entertainment, or even an afternoon bike skills clinic for those who’d like to be more active,” Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell said.
“Whatever your preference, we’ve got you covered with a range of events for all ages — and with most of the events falling during the school holidays, it’s a great chance to get the whole family involved.’’
The program includes an array of outdoor movie screenings where residents can relax under the stars with popular films that are ideal for all ages, including: If, at Rochester Skate Park on March 29 from 6pm to 8pm; Wicked, at Gargarro Botanic Gardens, Girgarre on April 5 from 6pm to 8pm; Despicable Me 4, at Edis Park, Kyabram on April 11 from 6pm to 8pm; and Wonka, at Apex Park, Echuca on April 17 from 6pm to 8pm.
Music lovers will have the chance to enjoy a free performance featuring local musicians.
Established local acts Jessica Lorraine, The Wildings and Kane Vincent will headline a night at Echuca’s Hopwood Gardens on April 4 from 5pm to 9pm, while the first hour of the event will be devoted to offering up-and-coming young performers the chance to shine.
For the younger or more active among us, the program offers two free bike skills clinics, complete with a live DJ to set the tone.
Clinics will be held at Rochester Skate Park on April 9 and Echuca East Recreation Reserve on April 17, with both sessions to be held from 2pm to 5pm.
